Caroline County Land
Caroline County is enviably located in the rapidly growing I-95 urban corridor, and is often called I-95's "last rural outpost." Caroline County covers 549 Square miles in central Virginia. In addition to the expansion of some resource-based industries, the county is seeing a new wave of activity from a variety of businesses and industries. The Caroline Chamber of Commerce tag, "We Mean Business," highlights their mission: to "create a better economic and business environment by promoting commerce and work force development." Typical targeted industries include distribution and light manufacturing, environmental remediation, tourism, business services and commercial markets. Secretariat, the Triple Crown winner of 1973 was born in Caroline County and the county has hosted the National Boy Scout Jamboree since 1981. It is the planned home of the 2010 jamboree, celebrating the 100th year of American scouting. Caroline County Chamber |
